Rural Arizona Engagement (RAZE) Unveils New Mission and Vision Ahead of Sixth Anniversary

COOLIDGE, AZ – As it marks six years of organizing in rural and border communities of Arizona, Rural Arizona Engagement (RAZE) is launching new mission and vision statements that reflect the organization’s growth and deepened commitment to the communities it serves.

Founded in 2020, RAZE is a nonpartisan organization focused on strengthening civic engagement and building power across rural Arizona. What began in Pinal County has expanded to Yuma, Cochise, and Coconino counties, where RAZE works alongside and employs local community members.

The updated mission and vision were developed through a collaborative process led by RAZE Co-Founder and Executive Director Pablo Correa and the organization’s leadership team. Staff across counties contributed feedback through surveys and discussions, sharing insights from their on-the-ground experiences with community members.

“When we first started this journey, we didn’t know exactly what the road ahead would look like, but we knew our communities deserved to be heard,” said Pablo Correa, Co-Founder and Executive Director of RAZE. “Six years later, we’ve met families, students, workers, and leaders across rural Arizona who have shaped who we are. This new mission and vision reflect what we’ve learned from them and our continued commitment to building power together.”

RAZE’s new mission centers on working alongside rural communities, uplifting lived experiences, and strengthening civic participation while addressing everyday needs with justice, dignity, and belonging.

The organization’s new vision outlines a future where neighbors stand in solidarity, rural communities have the resources they need to thrive, and diverse leadership helps ensure justice and opportunity for all.
