Rural Arizona Engagement (RAZE) to Host First Cochise County Borderland Reflections Art Show in Douglas, AZ on Nov. 8

RAZE is bringing together artists from both sides of the border to highlight the realities and resilience of border communities.

DOUGLAS, AZ - Rural Arizona Engagement (RAZE) is proud to host the first

ree

annual Borderland Reflections: Resistance Through Our Lens art show and competition on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Art Car World in Douglas, Arizona.

The exhibition will showcase powerful works from artists across Cochise County and neighboring border towns on both the U.S. and Mexico side, bringing to light the realities of life along the border. The art pieces explore themes of border life, immigration, cultural identity, and mental health, while uplifting the creativity and resilience of borderland communities.

“Borderland Reflections is about more than art, it's about visibility, healing, and connection,” said Tara Clayton, Cochise County Organizer with RAZE. “For too long, others have spoken for us, but living on the border shapes who we are and how we see the world. This show honors our strength and invites others to see us through our own lens.”

The event is part of RAZE’s ongoing work to challenge misconceptions about life on the border and highlight opportunities for investment and growth. Alongside the art exhibition, RAZE will provide Know Your Rights information and share ways for community members to get involved in ongoing immigration and community-safety efforts.

Guests are invited to experience the artwork, vote on their favorite pieces, meet the artists, and celebrate the creativity and resilience of the borderlands.
