RAZE Leaders 3.0 from Yuma County Bring Their Rural Voices to Washington D.C.

For the first time, five high school students from rural Arizona packed their bags and flew to Washington, D.C. It was a milestone for both the students, who had never left the state before, and for RAZE, marking the first time the program brought youth beyond Arizona’s borders.

This wasn’t just a trip. It was a transformational experience. As they walked through the halls of Congress, met with decision-makers, and stood before powerful monuments, these young leaders carried the voices of their communities with them. They spoke about the issues they face back home, sharing stories rooted in resilience, pride, and purpose.

They didn’t just return with photos and souvenirs. They came back with confidence, new knowledge, and a renewed commitment to create change. This journey was a beginning, not a finale.
