ARIZONARural Arizona Engagement (RAZE) is proud to shine a light on the importance of renewable energy programs in rural communities through the upcoming release of Harvesting Sunlight or in Spanish, Cosechando Luz, a new short film series that highlights the power of clean energy across rural Arizona.

We traveled across Northern Arizona to capture the four-part short film series that lifts up the voices of Arizonans who are embracing solar energy, demonstrating how renewable solutions are strengthening families, faith communities, and local economies. With support from programs that have now expired, rural communities were able to lower bills, invest in sustainability, and thrive, proving that when resources reach our towns, the results are transformative.

The films premiere starting October 10 on RAZE’s YouTube channel and will also premiere natively on Facebook, ensuring broader access for rural audiences.

  • Page Spring Cellars in Cornville ~ Wine, Work, and the Sun: Blending sustainability and business growth.

  • Alan in Ponderosa Park ~ Power in the Pines: A story of rural independence and neighbor-to-neighbor inspiration.

  • Taylor in Camp Verde ~ For My Daughter, My Family: A journey of stewardship and building a brighter future for the next generation.

  • Gary and Jean in Prescott ~ A Light on the Roof: How faith, community, and solar energy come together to create lasting impact.

To make this happen, RAZE teamed up with Solar United Neighbors and Page Springs Cellars in Cornville, Arizona. The films reveal how everyday Arizonans in rural towns are leading the way toward sustainability and renewable energy. From families, to faith communities, these real-life stories show how accessible clean energy became with opportunities through federal loans and the Inflation Reduction Act.

“Our goal with this campaign is simple,” said Pablo Correa, executive director of RAZE. “Federal programs may have ended, but they gave rural families, community spaces and businesses a chance to lower their utility bills and invest in renewable energy. The power is still in our hands, and rural Arizona is showing what’s possible when we lead with creativity, care, and clean energy.”

The Harvesting Sunlight / Cosechando Luz campaign is part of RAZE’s Environmental Stewardship program, which uplifts rural-led solutions to environmental challenges across Arizona, including clean energy, water justice, and land protection. To take action in supporting, we ask our communities to:

  • Watch the films on YouTube and Facebook on premiere dates.

  • Share the stories with neighbors and community partners or host your own Watch Party.

  • Donate to support RAZE’s work and keep rural voices leading the way.

The full short films will be available on RAZE’s YouTube channel starting Friday, October 10, 2025. Follow along on social media and subscribe to stay notified when the series premieres.
